1. Value- Do they offer the best VALUE for the dollar? As we all understand, price is a major factor. Our competitive prices with great service are second to none.

2. Licensed- All Companies or individuals allowed to apply a roof in Illinois must be licensed by the department of professional regulation; the same regulatory agency responsible for licensing doctors, lawyers, restaurants, etc.

3. Bonded- This is required by the state of Illinois to protect YOU if a roofer disappears without completing the job. This protects you for uncompleted work not covered by the other insurance.

4. Liability Insurance- The company must have liability insurance in case they damage or destroy your property by accident. This includes vehicle coverage.

5. Workers Compensation Insurance- The law mandates that all employers must have this coverage. Anyone working on the project is entitled to this coverage. If someone is injured and your company does not have workers compensation coverage, YOU will be personally responsible for their medical bills. In this sue-happy society, don't let the lawyers get the best of you!

6. Professional Office Staff- Does the company have a full time office staff with regular business hours, answering the phones, fully integrated computer, customer and accounting software to answer questions quickly and accurately? If closed, do they have a voice mail system so that you may leave a detailed message for the person of your choice?

7. Computerized Estimates- Does the company have clear, concise, detailed, easy to read estimates clearly outlining what the company intends to complete?

8. Quality and Clean Work- How committed is your company to focus on doing the job right the first time in a neat, clean, professional way?

9. Follow Up- If concerns arise, are they committed to taking care of the problem in the quickest and most professional way? We have a full time customer service rep!

10. Safety Conscious- Does the company have a written safety plan and proper safety equipment? OSHA requires this.

11. Lien Waivers- Are they provided upon request to protect the homeowner from any incorrect liens or judgments being filed?

12. Easy Billing- Do they accept credit cards? Earn those extra miles! We invoice completed jobs and partial payments with a computerized, easy to understand bill. We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

13. Quality Materials- Is your company using quality products that have warranties backed by a financially stable company that can stand behind their warranties? Does your company have a solidified relationship with the company to address problems if they arise?

14. Customer Survey- Do they send a customer survey at the end of every job to follow up and track customer satisfaction, assessing each customer’s reaction and satisfaction? We also have a quality control specialist inspecting every job at its completion to make sure it meets our high standards!

15. Sweeper Magnet- Do they have a magnet on wheels to roll over your yard and driveway to pick up nails left over after a job is finished?

16. Clean Gutters- Does your company clean gutters of leftover debris?

17. Ice/Watershield- Do they use extra protection in high leak prone areas? We apply ice and water shield in all valleys and high leak areas. It may be an expensive application, but it’s worth the cost for the homeowner. This is standard on any Daech & Bauer roof.

18. Four Nails- Is your company committed to applying four nails in every shingle so that the manufacturers’ warranties apply? The common practice of three-nailing can speed production, but void the manufacturer's warranty.

19. Internet Access- Do they have a web page to find detailed information about the company or to make color selections without leaving your house?

20. Quality Materials- Is your company using quality products that have warranties backed by a financially stable company that can stand behind their warranties? Does your company have a solidified relationship with the company to address problems if they arise?
